Shoppers return what they couldn't picture
A sofa can look right in a photo and still be too big for the room. AR puts it in the room first, at real size, from the shopper's phone.

Most furniture returns start with a guess. The shopper liked the colour, checked the dimensions twice and still couldn't tell how the sofa would sit next to the window. Photos can't answer that question. A phone camera can.
The room is the missing product photo
In an Amaspace configurator, every product has an AR button. On a phone, the shopper taps it and the product appears in their room at real size, in the finish they just chose. They can walk around it, look at it from the doorway and see whether it blocks the radiator.
There's no app to install. On iPhone it opens in Safari, on Android in Chrome. On a computer, the AR button shows a QR code; the shopper scans it and the same build opens on their phone.
Real size means real size
AR only helps if the scale is right. We build models at real-world scale, one unit to one metre, so a two-metre sofa is two metres on the floor. If a model arrives at the wrong scale, it's fixed in the scene settings before launch, not left for the shopper to discover.
Some things in a 3D scene shouldn't follow the product into the room: a display podium, a backdrop, a shadow plane. Each object has a "Visible in AR" switch, so the shopper sees the sofa and nothing else.
Where it helps most
The products where AR earns its place are the ones people measure before buying: sofas, tables, cabinets, rugs, beds. Anything where "will it fit" and "will it look right in here" are the real questions.
It also helps with the build itself. A shopper who sees the dark green in their own light, next to their own floor, chooses with more confidence than one comparing swatches on a screen.
Where it stops
AR needs a phone or a tablet. On a desktop, the shopper gets a QR code and has to pick up their phone, which is an extra step some won't take. We keep the 3D view on the page for them.
And AR shows size and look, not feel. It won't tell anyone how soft the cushions are.
Try it
Every Amaspace plan includes AR. Open any demo on our Showcases page on your phone and tap the AR button.
